MOTUL GRAND PRIX OF JAPAN, FP3/4 & Qualifying

In the third free practice session work Stefan again for the race, he started in the session with a 15 laps old tyre of soft compound. After a total of 30 laps the soft rear tyre was the choice for race, as long as it’s not raining
The last third of the race is always a big problem for the tyre wear, they tried to improve this section in the race.
At the end of the training, still a new rear tyre was mounted Stefan, unfortunately this tire produced much chatter, and he could hardly improve his time.
Also on the front, there were various settings, the fork was softer than previously set, what but turned out as a step in the wrong direction.
So Stefan had more feeling on corner entry, but suffered the braking performance.
Bradl was still dissatisfied, because he said they had learned for the FP4 and qualifying.
Stefan reached the 20th place in the combined timesheets in FP3.
In the fourth free practice red flag still 10 minutes a, cause was a big crash by Alex de Angelis who crashed heavily with his Aprilia but he can move her legs and can spech.
Stefan coped well in the 4th FP, the way from the Setup was correct, thus Bradl reached a good 14th place.
The first qualifying session began with the fastest lap of the weekend for Stefan, with a 1.45.7, he slid to third place.
Of course, Stefan take for the second stint in the 15 minute shootout one new supersoft-slick.
Stefan do an fabulos lap with the super soft tyres, he ranked just behind of Viñales and Redding to the third place. This means a good 13th place for tomorrow.
Let’s hope that tomorrow there‘s still dry contrary to all predictions and Bradl can implement the good performance in the race.

Motul Grand Prix of Japan, FP1 & FP2

The season is coming slow to the end, so the last four races traditionally start with the three overseas races in a row. Let’s start with the track of Motegi in Japan. The track belongs to Honda and has its special characteristics, which is made up of hard acceleration and braking. That means enormous stress for the brakes, the cooling with air scoops get.
Bradl said the track should meet a little better for the Aprilia as Aragon, because not while riding on the tire edge is what positively affects tire wear.
Tonight the first free practice session started at 2:55 CET, so middle of the night by us. The conditions were optimally  at 22 °air- and 34° asphalttemperature.
Stefan started well the Japan GP, he was on long time 15 place to end down with the super soft to improve rear tires still on postition 9. However even a harmless crash over the front wheel in Turn11 (a mountain off right-hander) remained without consequence happened to him at the last minute.
As the checkered flag was waved, Bradl 10th was recorded.
Not a bad start to the weekend. By the way Stefan was riding with the “old” swingarm, currently they have seen no needs to try new, down from the usual tweaks. They will also try to improve the brakestability.
Second free practice went well, Stefan could not improve his time from the morning, yet he stands at the end of the day in the combined timesheets in 13th position.
The time gap keeps up with around 1.5 seconds on Lorenzo in a manageable framework.
Unfortunately ran the afternoon practice didn’t go as planned for the team and Stefan were one slowed by electronic problems. They had difficulties to adjust the throttle response along with the traction control and power delivery. For this they were able to improve brake feel.
Tomorrow it will be to sort out yet the right tyres, Stefan wanted to test even the hard front tyre which was foiled however by the electronics-related additional stop. For race is the soft tyre the option.
However, the work of today and tomorrow on Sunday could be waste, because rain probability 70% the weatherforecoast.
Overall, the day looks not so bad today.

GRAN PREMIO MOVISTAR DE ARAGÓN, Race

What a race!
In warmup Bradl and team decided to use the bike with the “old” swingarm in the race, this bike generates more grip, despite previous problems with tyrelife still happend.
Unfortunately not quite starring the conditions in the warmup, as was to be expected the temperatures were relatively low.
It was now also a little bit cooler, even a small chance of rain, so possible a flag to flag race calculated some weather stations. So to speak, a repeat of last year, when Lorenzo delivered a great victory.
Up to the start of the race, then comes a little bit more Temperature as by Stefan hoped and the Sun came out in time.
Stefan do an excellent start, he catapulted from 17th to 13th place and stayed at this place 2/3 of the race. However, he was involved in some hard fights, including the life of the tyre may suffer enormously. And just as it arrived also. Stefan was passed up on place 18 in the last third of the race, because the rear tyre was completely at the end. Stefan had no grip the last 10 laps, he could never attack an different rider. Then even Laverty Stefan touched, thus even Hayden overtaked him. The 1.5 training lost due to technical problems on the head fell the team and Stefan.
Here in the future a lot of work is imminent with his team Bradl, was 13 due to his greater experience with the Aprilia team-mate Bautista, he can thus apparently households with the tyres better.
Lorenzo won the race in an absolutely dominant manner, second was a damn strong Pedrosa, Rossi despite some attacks but he havent no time a chance. Marquez is crashed out, but Lorenzo could reduce his gap to Rossi by 9 points on their 15. The World Championsship is still totally open with still 4 remaining races and 100 to forgiving points.
Next race is in 14 days in Japan, exactly in Motegi, Honda are the owner of this Track. We hope of course that Stefan & Team has better luck than before.
