The GRAN PREMI MONSTER ENERGY DE CATALUNYA is now history, after the sad Friday at Luis Salom lost his life, there were also smaller positive aspects.
Stefan was yesterday re-enter championship points, but was not particularly happy because teammate Bautista beat him clearly. Stefan was 12, Bautista finish eighth. Bradl was overtaken by Bautista and wondered how this had so much “more Grip”.
In each corner Alvaro was harder pure drive and out speed, Stefan could follow him is not.
After the race, Stefan’s front tire was completely destroyed, back it did not change much. I had no traction summed Bradl.
Afterwards we heard from a harder setup by Bautista.
The tire problems that have already announced in the training at Stefan, were soon also in the race, he had simply not a good feeling with the tires. But other riders had big problems to tire towards end of the race, so Stefan could still snatch the private Ducatis of Laverty, Redding and Pirro.
It comes in 14 days more in Assen / Netherlands and Stefan is the time until then serve to digest these GP and to gain a little distance from the tragic events.
In the sixth round of the current season Stefan could take it into the points and two precious points again.
It looked all weekend not look, because Stefan and his team did extremely difficult the Aprilia GP RS vote.
There was a lack of grip and engine power. Compared for example, the Ducatis always around 15 km / h faster on the straight. This speed plus can not do over a race distance during braking back well even the best rider.
Stefan said after the race that he was anyway at the limit during braking in the race.
Stefan had a good start and was lucky not to have been shot down as Baz and Miller by teammate Bautista right in the first corner.
After a few rounds Bradl took place on the 13th position and drove Laverty (Ducati) and Crutchlow (Honda) before the run-around. Unfortunately, he could not keep in front of them, because of the described problems in the long run. Their bikes are on the straigth too fast.
As Stefan then had to fight from mid-race with degrading grip on the right side, he also had to adapt his riding style and had indeed just as he learned last year on the Yamaha. This meant at the apex erect the motorcycle quickly and then accelerate the same. So it went a little better!
At the end of jumped out a solid 14th place. In the championsship-standings Stefan is on the 13th place.
In 14 days it goes on in Barcelona. We’re looking forward to.
