Philipp Öttl injured in crash at Le Mans

The fifth round of the Motorcycle World Championship was held in Le Mans / France. The 4.2 kilometer long Circuit Bugatti is famous mainly for the “24 Hours of Le Mans”. For the 16th consecutive year was held on the traditional track of the Grand Prix of France.
Philip had ended all his previous races in the points at Le Mans. Last year he achieved an outstanding tenth rank from last place.
However, the training did not go as desired. After the three free practice sessions of  the 20-yearsold auf was a disappointing 22nd place.

After a poor start to the race the KTM rider took on from the third round and already won some positions, as it in the same round in the last curve when accelerating loose the control from the rearwheel at get a highsider. The crash was not without consequences, unfortunately, Philipp broke the right wrist.
After consultation with Dr. Zasa from the Clinica Mobile and Dr Mir of Barcelona was decided Hartmut Semsch of Ortema to contact. He organized for Monday 8 pm an operation appointment with Professor Haerle in Sports Orthopaedics in Markgrönigen.

“After the eighth place in the warm up I was confident for the race. However, I had low grip from the start and crashed on the final corner. It was my first race since fall 2014 in Aragon. Together with Ortema and my coach Franz Dietzinger I’ll best efforts to work quickly to get fit again. “
